You'll need to use these downloadable installers to use the longer form product keys, and if you're installing the expansion you need to use the same installer format for both LoD and classic, that is, you can't use a 16 character LoD key with a 26 character classic key or vice versa. There you'll see your game key as well as a small arrow icon in the upper right to download the installer. After registering your game you can go to the summary tab and click on Diablo II. Just like the keys you buy from the scammers selling 'legit' cd keys. If you wish to use the long form of your product key you'll need to use the digital installers which are available from the same website. Most people are selling keys from this list anyway. Both keys are the same license and logging in with one prevents online use of the other while you're logged into that realm. When you do, you'll get a new 26 character key.

Choose this option and enter your 16 character product key to have have it registered to your account. If you click on it you'll find an option 'Add Game Key'. From there you should see a menu option in the upper middle of the screen called 'Games and Codes'. Click on your username in the upper right and go to account settings. Go to and click the login button to login with your account (this is the new style account you use to post on the forums, not the one you play D2 with). You can register your retail keys to your account as normal. Re: Are these CD Key sites legit Unless the key is purchased through Blizzard (or by extension a retail store), then they are illegal. It is, however, highly recommended to use the 26 character format over the 16 character one. Players are not required to register CD-Keys at this time.
